TODO in simpler terms
If you are currently preforming any profitable or semi-profitable activity (repairing, translating, growing edible plants, etc) which you would do within the proto-technate when one existed, you should start writing this documentation now. If you do so, please let me know that you are.--DustWolf 20:58, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- Keep records of financial donations and expenses related to the work
- Define how you work (operational principles) and what you make
- For each completed task:
- Materials required to get the job done
- Hours spent working (number of people and number of hours)
- Nominal input (W) of devices used and how long they were used (e.g. 15W energy saving lamp used for 2 hours)
- Whatever other information you require to keep track of work being done (description of task, state of product, expenses related to this task specifically, etc)
Although ultimately automated, initially, this documentation will be done by hand. So use whatever you prefer, a spreadsheet, a Word/Writer file, a wiki page, anything.
Steps
1. Start documenting (for work currently being done):
- Create index of persons and organizations doing this current work
- We should keep records of financial donations and expenses related to the work
- We should formalize the operational principles of what we do and document exactly what it is that we do
- We should document needs and requirements related to the work
- We should attempt to calculate EIL of the things we do, where information is unavailable approximation is okay
2. Implement software for automation:
- Simplify calculating of EIL (work in progress)
- Link supply and demand, so that it can be compared automatically
- Keep overview of proto-technate money flow
- Create site for automated registration of new would-be proto-technate members and their websites
3. Implement infrastructure software:
- Use EIL (current Energy Input) to indicate amount of EC to distribute, distribute it and create software for managing proto-technate members and their Energy Accounts (using online index of proto-technate members' sites)
- Automatically creating supply&demand trees, calculating product "reservation" information and Composite Energy Cost automatically
Goals
- Operational Energy Accounting: Require Energy Input information (EIL)
- Achieve synergy between proto-technate members: Require comprehensive supply & demand information
- Live up to the legal requirements for running a proto-technate as an association of organizations: Need the yearly financial reports to have organizations, thus need financial information
Aspects of ENACT software
- EIL - Energy Input per product
- Orders - Managing orders, calculating spent production capacity and EC deposits
- Users - EC Accounts
Articles to be written
- Dynamic Energy Accounting documentation - what it is and what it does
- Production Allocation - collect information at the end of the cycle (note: dynamic)
- Prototechnate Population Management - single organization or many
Articles
- Technocratic Information Exchange -- also being used for EIL
- NPO cooperative in prototechnate -- explains role of Coordinators (which will be done mostly by software in ENACT)
